56723 Duncan Road, Sandstone, MN 55072

Property Description

Legacy Land! This property has it all: A pond, several year round streams, a creek/river big enough to swim and kayak around on (Keene Creek), two small rustic cabins/sheds to get yourself situated, apple trees, pear trees, cherry trees, garden beds, and more. If biodiversity is your interest, there are large stands of old growth oak trees, lowland red maple forests, hazelnut groves, birch and poplar stands, tamarack trees, and a sizeable stand of spruce and fir trees overlooking the Keene Creek in the back. A mile or so of trail winds to the creek at the back of the property taking you through upland forests and crossing streams and wetlands. Wild cranberries, nannyberries, blueberries, serviceberries and other fruits grow along the way. Build your dream home here or keep the little cabins as a hunting camp for you and your friends. Other small ice house and trailers can be included if buyer desires. NOTE: This is wild, remote, and rustic land with minimal cell service. It is an active homestead and there may be various equipment around during showings. The pictures are from all seasons over the last three years. The garden pictures are from this summer, it is now fall and the gardens look dead and weedy in comparison. The pond is particular low this fall with the drought. Duncan road is marked as a "minimum maintenance road" because further down the road it becomes unmaintained. Up to this property it is fully maintained and plowed by the township. The driveway into the land is roughed in enough for a 4x4 or medium+ clearance suv, but sedans should park in the lot provided across the street. If you come visit, prepare for rustic off-grid conditions.
