Minnetonka Yacht Club

Founded in 1882, Minnetonka Yacht Club is part of Lake Minnetonka's longstanding sailing tradition. Its Lighthouse Island setting lies at the mouth of Carsons Bay in Deephaven, beside the open water of the Lower Lake.

An island home for sailing

The club brings sailors together for organized racing and time with the lake's sailing community. Its island setting distinguishes it from a conventional shoreside marina: membership, boat arrangements and access deserve a conversation with the club before making plans.

Lighthouse Island is also home to Lake Minnetonka Sailing School. The school provides instruction, while the club provides a setting for continued participation in organized sailing. They share a location but serve different purposes.

Nearby communities and sailing
