Westonka Sailing

Westonka Sailing is the shared-sailboat program at Upper Minnetonka Yacht Club on Enchanted Island in Shorewood. It offers a way to enjoy Lake Minnetonka sailing without purchasing your own sailboat.

A way to keep sailing

The program is intended for people who want to learn or improve their skills, sail for pleasure and take part in racing in a social setting. Boats depart from the club's Enchanted Island marina on the Upper Lake.

This is a useful option to compare after an introductory course: lessons teach the basics, while shared-boat participation can provide continued practice. Ask the program about eligibility, checkout requirements, reservations and the sailing opportunities included in membership.

Nearby communities and sailing

For structured adult instruction, explore Upper Minnetonka Sailing School. The two programs share the club setting but meet different needs: taking a course and continuing to sail.
