Black Lake is one of the Bays on Lake Minnetonka located located in the communities of Spring Park and Mound. It is bordered by Shoreline Drive on the North, Wilshire Boulevard on the East and south, and Seton Lake on the West. Other notable landmarks include Phelps Island to the south, the nearby Sheriff's Water Patrol headquarters on Spring Park Bay to the east, as well as Emerald Lake to the west.
Black Lake is one of the smallest bays on Lake Minnetonka, it ranges in depth up to 23 feet, and historically gets a C from the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District for water quality on a scale of A - F, meaning swimming, boating, and fishing may be undesirable relatively early in the season. Algae blooms may also appear occasionally. For these and other reasons, homes for sale on Lake Minnetonka in this area tend to be more reasonably priced than they are in Minnetonka Beach, Deephaven, or Wayzata.
